Welcome to the February Newsletter.
I hope everyone has forgiven the Groundhog for his 6 more weeks of winter prediction.
As mentioned in last month’s newsletter, today I would like to delve into the topic of random acts of kindness and the benefits they have for our soul and the world around us.
One of the most powerful truths I’ve learned on my healing journey is this:
Helping others isn’t just good for the world…it’s profoundly good for us too.
There’s and old teaching I once read that has always stayed with me:
When you want more of something in your life – give it away.
If you want more love, offer love.
If you want more peace, be peaceful.
If you want more support, be supportive.
Researcher and author Lynne McTaggart also speaks about something called the altruism effect – showing that when we send loving thoughts, pray or meditate for someone else, our own nervous system shifts into a more coherent, balanced state. Our heart rhythms become more harmonious, stress hormones decrease, and the body naturally moves toward healing.
In other words… Kindness is medicine.
I experienced this firsthand while volunteering at the Yonge Street Mission’s Christmas Market. Standing behind the table, watching parent’s faces light up as they chose toys for their children – toys they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to provide – was deeply moving. There was joy, relief, gratitude , and love in those moments.
And I felt it too.
My body softened.
My heart felt full.
My nervous system settled.
It reminded me that we don’t need grand gestures to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest acts – a kind thought, a prayer, a few hours of service – create the biggest ripples.
When you send kindness of love to another, they feel it.
We are all made of vibration, and when we put out the good, the kind and the loving..that is what flows back to us. Life begins to feel easier. Things begin to flow.
So this week, I invite you to gently ask yourself:
What do I want more of in my life?
And then…
How can I give a little of that away?
Because every time you help another, you’re also helping yourself – to more love, more kindness, and more abundance.
May this month be an invitation to look for the small ways you can make a difference.
Not from obligation…
Not from pressure…
But from the simple joy of being human.
Your kindness matters more than you know.
With gratitude…
Thank you for reading.
